died at San Francisco Mar. 15, 1887
(military record very weathered, copied as best I could)
Wis. Volunteer Inf'ty and was promoted to the 15th U. S. Inf'ty.
He fought at the battles of Falling __________, Chattanooga, Nashville,
Chaplin Hills, Jefferson, Stone River and Missionary Ridge.  Honorably
mustered out of service with his ___________ Apr. 17, 1866.  Elected a
Companion of the 1st Class Military Order, Loyal Legion of the U.S. Nov. 5, 1883
and a member of the GAR.  A true friend.
