OBITUARY ---------------

GEORGE BENJAMIN

San Mateo Times and Gazette

March 5, 1897 (1887?)

George Benjamin an old resident of this place died at the Atherton ranch last Monday. He was 71 years of age, a native of Connecticut. He was by trade a carpenter but for many years past he had been a sort of retainer at the Atherton place, doing odd jobs of various kinds. He was a useful man, and his worth was appreciated by his kind patrons, with whom he had a pleasant home, where his days ended peacefully and even happily.
