OBITUARY ---------------

AUGUST GRIMMENSTEIN

Redwood City Democrat

April 2, 1903

August Grimmenstein, a native of Germany, aged 59 years, died Saturday, March 28, 1903 and was buried Monday afternoon in Union Cemetery after the funeral services held at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Redwood City. Mr Grimnienstein belonged to that great class exalted by Abraham Lincoln by the name of ‘the common people’. In this community he was favorably known for two score years or more as a faithful husband and a most untiring man of action. In this sphere, he labored patiently until his share of the world’s work was done and he closed his eyes in the sleep that knows no waking. The deceased leaves a wife and family of six sons and daughters to mourn his loss, which to them is irreparable and beyond words to express.
