OBITUARY ---------------

CHARLES LIPP

Redwood City Democrat

March 28, 1912

Melancholy passing away of young Charles Lipp.

The sympathy of the whole community is extended to William Lipp senior and his family on account of the melancholy death of their son Charles which occurred on Monday morning. The circumstances point to a suicide but why the young man should thus end his life is a mystery that none have been able to solve. The deceased, who was employed by his brother William was supposcd to be at work Monday morning. When his brother arrived at the stable, the teams were not hitched and on making a search, Charles was found lying in one of the stalls with a 22 caliber rifle lying across his body.

Dr. Ross was hastily summoned and the young man was hurried to Mrs. Hulings sanitarium. An examination disclosed a bullet wound in his right temple, the shot having entered his brain. The young man lingered until Tuesday morning when he passed away without becoming conscious.

The deceased was born and reared in this city and was aged 23 years. Besides his parents, he is survived by six brothers and sisters. He was recently married. The fłneral will take place at 2 o’clock this afternoon from the family home on Jefferson Street. Interment is Union Cemetery.
