OBITUARY ---------------

GEORGE W. PREBBLE

Redwood City Democrat

April 6, 1893

George W. Prebble, a well-known resident of this place, was drowned in San Gregorio Creek not far from the old Week’s place, last Sunday afternoon. He evidently attempted to cross the creek on a log which spanned it, and becoming dizzy, fell head foremost into a hole of water about three feet deep. In falling, he must have been stunned by striking his head and was unable to help himself. Mr, Boyd, his companion, returning up the creek in search of him, found him in the water, dead. Mr. Prebble was for some years baggage agent at the depot here. He was an amiable man and well liked by those who knew him.
