Drowned in the bay

Bernard Anderson aged 19 years, the son of August Anderson, foreman of the Morgan Oyster Company’s beds at Dumbarton, was drowned in the bay Saturday. The unfortunate young man was on one of the company’s barges which was being towed and accidentally fell over-board. He was unable to swim and before help could reach him, sank. The bay was dragged and on Sunday the body was recovered. The deceased was interred in Union Cemetery Monday, Deputy James Cronk held an inquest Monday evening and after hearing the testimony of the father and others who witnessed the accident, a verdict of accidental death was returned by the jury.
