OBITUARY ---------------

SAMUEL. M. COOK

Times and Gazette

Jan. 5, 1884

Samuel M. Cook, well-known citizen of Redwood, dies at his residence on Monday morning last, at 2 o’clock. Mr. Cook had been seriously ill for some time previous to his demise, and the said termination of his life was not unexpected. The Episcopal services were conducted at the house of Rev. Wm. Stowe, after which the San Mateo Lodge of Masons took charge and the rites of the Order were administered at the cemetery, which were made very impressive by the excellent reading of the burial service by Albert Hanson, the presiding officer of the lodge. Mr. Cook was a member of the Chosen Friends which insures his widow the handsome sum of $2,000. His age at the time of his death was 61 years. Masonic Plot
