OBITUARY ---------------

JOHN LESLIE

March 9, 1911

John C. Leslie, a well known resident of this city for many years and a blacksmith by trade, came to a melancholy end Monday afternoon. When the storm was at its severest, about 4 o’clock. Leslie was making his way homeward along Roosevelt Avenue when he fell, presumably from heart failure and lay exposed to the rain. Shortly after 4 o’clock, he was found dead and word was phoned to Mr. Crowe, who removed the body to his undertaking establishment. An inquest was held by Coroner Plymire today. Leslie had been employed as a blacksmith in Redwood City for many years. He was 52 years of age, and leaves a widow Mrs. May Beeson Leslie and five children. Deceased was a native of Canada.

The funeral services will be held at the family residence today at 2 o’clock and interment will be in Union Cemetery.
