MR NIMROD WINTER

Mr. Nimrod Winter died last Saturday morning of cancer of the stomach, after a long and painful illness, born with uncomplaining fortitude. Mr. Winter was born in Wells, Somersetshire, England, and was 51 years, 1 month and 27 days old. He came to the United States in 1870 and went to Chicago just after the great fire of October 1871. He came to California in 1871 and worked in the Palace hotel, coming to Redwood City four years ago last June. Hc has worked in this community ever since winning the esteem of both employers and employed. Hc leaves a widow and five grown children, three young men and two young ladies. He was a member of the Congregational Church, of the Workmen, and of the United Friends of the Pacific.
